Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
