An Australian man who jumped over a barricade and reached for actress Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was sentenced to over a week in prison for disrupting public order and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to Singaporean press.

The man shoved through camera crews and approached aggressively the performer and artist, who was present at the Asian debut for the film on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and high-profile gatherings, including jumping on stage at the pop star's Australian show in this summer.

The event sparked outrage in Singapore, with numerous people saying he of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a explosive incident at her concert in the UK city in several years ago resulted in the deaths of 22 people and hurt numerous attendees.

Throughout the court proceedings, the authorities learned he had attempted to intrude on the movie's debut twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a second attempt to jump the barricades. Event security stopped him and pinned him down.

The man subsequently shared videos expressing gratitude to the star for letting him on the carpet and said he was "at liberty."

Law enforcement arrested him the subsequent day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The District Judge the magistrate was cited by Channel News Asia as stating that the man sought attention, noting that he was mistaken to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

The actress has not commented on the incident.

Erivo mentioned the incident to NBC, saying that she "just wanted to make sure my friend was secure."

"I believe he didn't intend us injury, but you never know with these incidents, and I aimed to confirm that she was alright. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
