Hulu is Producing a Far Cry TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest Far Cry game that players dived into was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for delighting in chaos and insanity with similar excitement, all while weaving gripping, ideologically themed stories. It’s no surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose creations have exemplified all of those things.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' style by introducing a new location and ensemble in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the showrunner.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their steady belief and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone series. Every instalment is a variation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always examining the nature of humanity through this multifaceted and turbulent lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and introduce our mutual irreverent, visionary style to the television.”

A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
