Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world offered sympathy for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
